Cathy Basta

Hi, my name is Cathy Basta and I am so excited to get to know your two year olds this year! I can’t wait to support them as they grow and develop physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally, but most of all to enjoy our time together. I have recently retired from Northside School here in Fairport where I worked as a Paraprofessional for over 15 years. I am delighted to join the Gateway Family and look forward to work in the two year old group.

Joli Plunknett-Farmen

I began teaching at Gateway in 2021 in the afternoon 4’s classroom. I live in Fairport with my husband, Dan, and our three children, Grady (age 11), Camille (age 8), and Juliette (age 6). We also have a dog named Maple and a cat named Pete. Our family loves to spend time outside together, and we’re often found on the baseball and soccer fields!

Prior to joining Gateway, I was home raising our kids when they were young, and volunteering in their classrooms whenever possible. I also have a professional background in Corporate Communications and Public Relations. I truly enjoy spending time with children, and I am excited to continue working with four-year-olds this year!

Lindsey Swartz

I have been a longtime fan of Gateway! I am an alum, as well as my two older children, Nora (age 9) and Billy (age 7). My youngest son, Joey (age 2.75) is starting at Gateway this year. I began teaching here in 2021 and had a blast in the 3’s classroom! I’m really looking forward to teaching 4’s this year. I have a passion for teaching and have my masters in Inclusive Education. Prior to staying home with my children, I taught 7th and 8th grade special education in West Irondequoit. I currently lead a community program for people with disabilities called Friends and Fun, and hold a board position on the Brooks Hill PTA. The classroom is one of my favorite places to be!
